Learn to utilize massage skills for new environments.
Chair and table work is taught to be done in public settings, or to introduce bodywork to people without the need for them to disrobe.
Increase versatility, revitalize a practice and potentially build clientele.

Introduction to the physiological effects of hot, cold and water treatments, plus safe, practical application of selected treatments for spa or private practice.

Prerequisite for transfer students enrolling in Advanced Circulatory Massage & Deep Tissue classes.
For 30 years the IPSB style of massage has helped therapists deliver a powerful, deeply moving sensory experience to clients while protecting the therapist’s body from stress, injury and burnout.This course for new and seasoned massage professionals overviews the principles of IPSB Massage through movement explorations, hands-on bodywork and exercises in personal sensory awareness.
Students learn tai chi-based movements to integrate into their massage repertoire as well as a kinder, gentler approach to deeper circulatory work. Proper body mechanics, an introduction to tai chi, communications skills, professional boundaries, injury prevention and integration of body, mind and heart are emphasized.
This course will be held August 9 – August 24, Monday/Tuesday 9:30am – 1:30pm, and is 24 hours of training.

Our 150-hour Massage Technician Program is the introduction to the field of massage and bodywork.
It is the beginning of the self-exploration process and is the building block for further studies. At the end of this course, a Certificate of Completion is presented which fulfills the requirements to practice massage in most areas of California.
You will be introduced to massage techniques such as Swedish massage, joint-mobilizations, deep circulatory massage, energy balancing and more.
In addition to basic massage techniques the course promotes proper body usage through Tai Qi Ch’uan and sensory awareness exercises.
Prospective students are welcome, and encouraged to set up an appointment for an informational meeting with one of our Enrollment Counselors.
We have 150-hour Massage Technician Trainings starting within the month:
SATURDAY/TUESDAY schedule
June 1st – August 31st, 2010 (no class July 3rd)
Saturdays (9:30am – 6:30pm), Tuesdays (6:30pm – 10:30pm)
MORNINGS schedule
June 14th – August 17th, 2010
Mondays – Thursdays (9:00am – 1:00pm)
INTENSIVE schedule
July 12th – August 11th, 2010
